Rescue

The Desert Valley Dachshund Club is a supporter of Sahuaro Dachshund Rescue, a rescue covering the state of Arizona and beyond.

Sahuaro Dachshund Rescue is comprised of a group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of Dachshunds. Potential adopters are scrutinized in order to find the best homes for these ‘homeless’ rescues. Each dog is placed in a foster home so that they can be evaluated and matched to the home that will best meet that dog’s needs.

Sahuaro Dachshund Rescue invites those interested in adoption to keep checking the current fostered dogs as the list changes frequently.Contact Sahuaro Dachshund Rescue directly with any questions or if you have a Dachshund you must give up due to new circumstances.  Sahuaro Dachshund Rescue will work with you to help you keep your dog, if possible and can offer many suggestions that may help.

All rescues are spayed/neutered, vaccinations brought up to date, health examined (with any health issues taken care of) and microchipped prior to adoption.  To apply for adoption just email Donna at:  wiredox2@msn.com  and she will email an application out.  Each goes to its’ new home with an adoption packet that contains much important and valuable information regarding owning a dog (Dachshund), health records, coupons and a training DVD.  Adoption fees do vary by dog.
